MON – 08/12/19

CONDITIONS: Knee High, Weak, Mushy, Sunny & Hot
SURF REPORT:

Good-Day!! The surf is small, knee high short period wind chop that is really not rideable except maybe on a Stand Up, but that would be about it. It is another scorcher here today and will be that way for the rest of the week. The next shot at some surf may be next weekend, but we will have to wait and see. If you come down, bring the long stuff, it is a good day to push in the groms the last week before school starts…

Northeastern Gulf Of Mexico Tropical Development Possible This Weekend: A frontal boundary that is currently located across the Great Lakes will push into the northern Gulf of Mexico by late this week into this weekend. Anytime a front moves into the Gulf of Mexico during the hurricane season, you really need to keep an eye on it for tropical development near the tail end of the front. The model guidance, as a whole, are lukewarm at best with forecasting some sort of tropical system spinning up this coming weekend. The latest GFS model forecast shows the frontal boundary hanging around through the weekend with a low pressure system forming along the front over southern Georgia and then moving along the US East Coast early next week. The inland track of this low pressure system would prevent tropical development and keep this system non-tropical. We will watch it and keep you posted!!
