It is totally flat but once again, the blue, calm, glassy water is still with us and it is unbelievable how nice the water is. Good day to take a longboard or a Stand Up out for a paddle or else go for a swim. I also hear the fishing is really good. No surf in the forecast for the next 5 days, time to hop on a plane and find waves!!
We have been monitoring Invest 96L to the east of the Lesser Antilles over the past several days. Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with this feature remains disorganized. As this feature continues on a west-northwesterly track this weekend, a large and expansive area of dry low to midlevel air awaits in its path, despite being in an area of lower wind shear. This dry air should limit any additional organization of this system. While development to a tropical depression is still possible, the chance for this continues to drop. Once this system reaches the Lesser Antilles early next week, strong wind shear should prevent any further development.
