TUE – 08/13/19

CONDITIONS: Knee High Chop, Weak, Hot & Sunny….
SURF REPORT:

Good Day- Another hot day with no real surf to speak of. All that is showing today is some knee high wind chop that is not rideable. The forecast is not calling for any surf for the next couple of days, but is saying there could be a small bump by the weekend, but we will have to see. The water clarity is still not very good on the beach due to the SW winds, hopefully that will change later this week. Keep an eye on the cams, but not much happening around here surf wise…

Northeastern Gulf Of Mexico Tropical Development Possible This Weekend: A frontal boundary that is currently located across the Great Lakes will push into the northern Gulf of Mexico by late this week into this weekend. Anytime a front moves into the Gulf of Mexico during the hurricane season, you really need to keep an eye on it for tropical development near the tail end of the front. The model guidance, as a whole, are lukewarm at best with forecasting some sort of tropical system spinning up this coming weekend. The latest GFS model forecast shows the frontal boundary hanging around through the weekend with a low pressure system forming along the front over southern Georgia and then moving along the US East Coast early next week. The inland track of this low pressure system would prevent tropical development and keep this system non-tropical. We will watch it and keep you posted!!
